Kumiko S. Mckee

Kumiko S. McKee is a realism portrait artist born and raised in Japan. She studied art throughout high school before earning her BFA from the University of Wyoming in the United States. Her work focuses on capturing the depth of human emotion, bringing out the personality and spirit of each subject. She is currently working on “American Family”, a series of drawings that reflect the diversity and connections within her multi-cultural family. Inspired by both her Japanese heritage and her life in the U.S., her art blends technical precision with emotional depth. She believes that a portrait should be more than just a likeness—it should tell a story, revealing the unseen layers of a person’s identity. Her work has been exhibited in various galleries, and she continues to explore new ways to bring realism to life through her art.
