Carlo Russo ( b. 1976 ) is a graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (2004), where he studied drawing and painting. His focus during this time was to learn about the methods, techniques and skills that were commonplace in the classically trained artist. After graduation he rented a small studio and continued to explore various subject matter and improve his technique. Over time he gradually expanded to larger studio and eventually started teaching to very small groups of students. Much of his output nowadays is devoted to still life painting, where he enjoys painting the textures and forms we find around us today, such as fur, silk, stone, old plaster, metal, wood, fruits and vegetables. Ultimately, his goals as an artist are to create well crafted works that are designed and painted with beauty and imbued with subtle harmony.
